Despite not having read all the works of the great English playwright William Shakespeare (my fault, but make it up!) Every time I write something he''creeps'', with quotations, aphorisms, or simply with a name. In my first novel was the name of the romantic hero par excellence Romeo Montague.
At the beginning of the novel, there is also a great sonnet of William, which opens in the appropriate way just my little modern fable.
"The more I close my eyes, then we see better, because
all day looking at things unworthy of note ;
but when I sleep, in dreams they see you,
and darkly bright, are direct light in the dark.
Then thou, whose shadow shadows lights, which show
happy form the shape of your shadow
the clear day with thy much clearer light, when
to eyes without having your shadow so ; shining!
As I say, my eyes were blessed ,
looking at you in the living day, When in dead night
your lovely shade imperfect
through the heavy sleep blind eye to pose!
All days are nights to see till I see you,
and nights bright days when dreams will show it to me. "
William Shakespeare
